The One With The First Blog Post – It’s Meera

The One With The First Blog Post

People always ask you this big question — What do you want to become when you grow old? When we were small, it was an inconsequential question. Well for most of us. Right? But let me tell you that I never belonged to this particular category. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to become a writer. It was never up for debate and I had never been so sure about anything else in my life.

As I’m writing this very first post, I can assure you that I’m anything but calm. I have been planning on starting this blog for a long time but it got delayed. Blame my habit of procrastinating. Now that I’m here, it’s terrifying but all the more enthralling. I’m finally stepping out of my bubble and taking my first step out of my comfort zone.

But why blogging, you might ask? Well, in the beginning, I had no idea what I’d write. Sure I’ve written poetry and quotes (which you can check out on my Instagram page) and I was even content with it for a while but I wanted to do more than that. But how?

As I turned 21 this week, I introspected a lot. I just walked into adulthood and wanted to discover my purpose. Sure it wasn’t just writing aimlessly. But how do you really find out what your purpose is? I’ve seen people in their 60’s as lost as the day they came into this world. I’ve seen people way younger than me already on their way to fulfilling their purpose.

As I said in the beginning, I always wanted to become a writer. But over the years I’ve realized that writing was just a mode to deliver what I really wanted to do. I wanted to share what I knew about self-awareness, gratitude, mindfulness and meaningful and powerful aspects of life. This was my purpose. I wanted to help people in the only way I knew. And hence this blog.

WHAT IS MY BLOG ABOUT?

I’ve grown up listening to my mom talking about how the universe works its wonder. How we have a universe of our own inside our body and mind. Spirituality is just one of the many things that excited me. I marvelled at how behavioural science worked and how wisdom could change so much in our lives if used properly.

I’ve been following people like Sadguru, B.K Shivani and Jay Shetty for a long time now. I’ve followed them closely enough to know that what they do is what resonates with me the most. And this is exactly what I want to do via my blog.

Wisdom doesn’t come to you overnight. It comes with experiences and what you yield from them. We all have had such life-changing experiences. But the yielding part can be a bit difficult. I want this blog to help you with that yielding process. I can’t solve your problems for you. But I can give you an insight into how it can be dealt more constructively.

The aim is to make this blog a safe place where people can read kind and encouraging words and bring some positivity into the sullenness that’s been clouding our lives, especially this year. I hope to hear back from you. Feedbacks are always appreciated.
